Star Valley Children’s Choir Benefit Concert
On November 23, 2008, the Star Valley Children's Choir hosted a concert at Herbst Theatre to benefit Chinese Hospital. 100% of the proceeds went towards the support of the New Chinese Hospital building fund. The plan to build a replacement acute care facility at 835 Jackson Street, San Francisco. Among the guests of honor were Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China in San Francisco, The Honorable Willie L. Brown, Jr., former Mayor of San Francisco, Supervisor Aaron Peskin, and many business and community leaders.
Star Valley Children’s Choir is an exciting and upbeat choir program formed to enrich, inspire and transform the lives of children by learning, sharing, and performing beautiful music. Founder and executive director, Sherlin Chan, has a vision of excellence for all of those she teaches and has led the choirs to perform in many venues, including schools, hospitals, senior centers, parades and parties during holidays. Drawn from across the San Francisco Bay Area, the 50 vocalists aged from 6 to 15. Star Valley Children’s Choir is the recipient of the Gold Award at the Anaheim Heritage Music Festival 2008.
